The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting – Instructor-Led course is an in-person, beginner-friendly firearm training program taught by a certified NRA instructor. Designed for new and aspiring gun owners, this class emphasizes safety, marksmanship, and real-world pistol handling skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Training begins in the classroom using the Laser Ammo Smokeless Range simulator and Glock 19 gas-recoil IR training guns. These advanced tools help students build confidence and accuracy before progressing to live-fire exercises.
Following simulator training, students will head to the range for live qualification. The course includes instruction in:

Students who wish to attempt higher levels—Level 2 (White), Level 3 (Blue), or Instructor qualification—may do so at an additional $35. We rent a private bay for qualifications and only schedule one hour for qualifications. Be aware that we may not be allowed to stay on the private bay past out one hour slot if it has been reserved by another group.
This course concludes with a live-fire NRA qualification and a certificate of completion. It’s the perfect first step toward responsible gun ownership, personal defense training, or advanced marksmanship development.
