Live-Fire Range Cost Comparison

  • Lane fees / range usage:
    • Around $20–$30 per hour, plus $10–$15 extra for a second shooter sharing the same lane
    • Some facilities charge a flat $12–$25 per shooter with no time limits
  • Gun rental:
    • Typically $10–$20 per firearm per hour
  • Ammunition:
    • Usually $0.40–$0.50 per round; that’s around $20–$50 for a 50‑round box of 9 mm
  • Targets:
    • Range from $0.45 to $2 each, depending on size and quality

Example Cost (per hour for two shooters renting one gun each):

  • Lane fee: $20–$30 + $10–$15 = $30–$45
  • Gun rentals: $10–$20 × 2 = $20–$40
  • Ammo (100 rounds): $40–$50
  • Targets: ~$1–$2 each × 2 = $2–$4
